'Hot spot' analysis of red snapper (Lutjanus campechanus) commercial vertical line data recorded by the Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Observer Program, 2007 - 2013.
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Getis-Ord Gi analysis of kept and discarded red snapper, Lutjanus campechanus, capture from observations recorded by NOAA Fisheries Service Galveston Laboratory Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Observer Program 2007-2013 (28,087 sets made during 731 trips). Average capture summarized by 15-minute grid blocks. The hot spot, or Getis-Ord Gi statistic, is used to detect clusters of high or low catch per unit effort (CPUE) values. In ArcGIS, the hot spot tool looks at the value of each feature in relation to the values for its neighboring features.

King mackerel (Scomberomorus cavalla) diet: prey items by percent volume for six food webs in the Gulf of Mexico (SCavalla_prey_act_pctvol_fw.shp)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset outlines areas in the Gulf of Mexico where spatial food webs have been identified based on king mackerel (Scomberomorus cavalla) diet data. These data were taken from a collection of 27 existing gut-content analysis studies comprising 1454 predator-prey interactions at the species level (available via the GoMexSI Gulf of Mexico Species Interactions online database http://gomexsi.tamucc.edu/). In this dataset, these interactions are summarized to the family level where possible.

Scleractinia Caryophylliidae Lophelia Pertusa
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The data represent predicted habitat suitability for several taxa of deep-sea corals. Predictions were modeled using a statistical machine-learning algorithm called maximum entropy (MaxEnt). NOAA National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) combined databases of known deep-sea coral locations provided by the NOAA Deep-Sea Coral Research and Technology Program (DSCRTP) and other contributors with environmental and oceanographic data to generate the predictive models of deep-sea coral distribution. These models are used to produce regional maps of deep-sea coral habitat.

Seagrass Information for Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This data represent a compilation of seagrass information for areas along the Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas coasts from various source agencies. Seagrass areas were mapped from aerial photography taken between 1987 to 1999. The original source data were not all classified in the same manner, but the information from each of these sources was maintained in the final results.
