AKRO/SF: Blend System
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Blend was the system used by the NMFS Alaska Regional Office to monitor groundfish catch from 1991 until 2002. The Blend system combined data from industry production reports and observer reports to make the best, comprehensive accounting of groundfish catch. These data were used to manage quotas for groundfish in the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, and Aleutian Islands. The blend catch data were also used as the basis for computing estimates of prohibited species bycatch. Prohibited species include Pacific halibut, salmon, herring, and crabs.

AKRO/SF: Community Development Quota (CDQ) System
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Western Alaska Community Development Quota (CDQ) Program allocates a percentage of all Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands quotas for groundfish, prohibited species, halibut, and crab to eligible communities. The purpose of the CDQ Program is to provide the means for starting or supporting commercial fisheries business activities that will result in an ongoing, regionally based, fisheries-related economy in Western Alaska. This was the legacy system for managing CDQ Groundfish from 1991-2007. After 2008, CDQ groundfish was incorporated into the Catch Accounting System.

AFSC/FMA/Observer Logistics System (OLS)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Alaska groundfish fisheries observers have been monitoring domestic groundfish fishing activities in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) off Alaska for over twenty years. The Fisheries Monitoring and Analysis Division staff has been responsible for training, briefing, debriefing and oversight of these observers. The Observer Logistics System, launched in December 2011, is the current computer tool used for observer logistics and contains data on individual observers back to 1990.

Multibeam Backscatter Data for Selected U.S. Locations in the Pacific
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Multibeam backscatter imagery extracted from gridded bathymetry for selected U.S. locations in the Pacific. The backscatter datasets include data collected using the RESON 8101ER multibeam sonar, Kongsberg 300 kHz EM3002D multibeam sonar, and a Kongsberg 30 kHz EM300 multibeam sonar. Data are available in GeoTIFF and NetCDF format as well as composite maps (jpg or PDF) which show all available data for a region. Please see the individual metadata records for additional information about a specific location.

Slope Grid Derived from Gridded Bathymetry for Select U.S. Coral Reef Locations across the Pacific Ocean
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Slope is derived for islands and banks across the U.S. Pacific Islands Region primarily from gridded multibeam bathymetry collected aboard NOAA Ships Hi'ialakai and Oscar Elton Sette, and aboard R/V AHI (Acoustic Habitat Investigator) from 2003 to 2012 by the PIFSC Ecosystem Sciences Division (ESD). Other sources of available data used to derive slope for a few locations include estimated depths derived from IKONOS satellite imagery from 2000 to 2002, LIDAR data from 2001 and 2007, and multibeam bathymetry collected in 2001 and 2002.
