This dataset includes surface underway, chemical, meteorological and physical data collected from R/V Investigator in the Southern Ocean, South Pacific Ocean in 2023. These data include partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide (pCO2) in water and air, sea surface temperature, sea surface salinity, barometric pressure, wind direction and wind speed. The instruments used to collect these data include barometric pressure sensor and carbon dioxide (CO2) gas analyzer.

Assessment of whales in the North central Pacific Ocean from the research vessel Yushin Maru No. 3 from 2014-07-02 to 2014-08-30 (NCEI Accession 0279445)

This dataset contains results of visual assessment of different whales, including sperm, sei, blue, and others. Along with whale survey, the observations also included dolphin survey. They were taken from R/V Yushin Maru No. 3 during 2014 IWC-Pacific Ocean Whale and Ecosystem Research cruise (5-th annual IWC-POWER cruise). This cruise is U.S. State Department MSR U2014-001 as part of the World Data Service for Oceanography. Data are included in the cruise report in PDF format.

Decadal Trends in the Oceanic Storage of Anthropogenic Carbon from 1994 to 2014 (NCEI Accession 0279447)

This dataset consists of the estimated decadal changes in the oceanic content of anthropogenic CO2 (∆Cant) between 1994, 2004 and 2014 as described in detail in Müller et al. (2023, in press, AGU Advances). These estimates have been derived from the GLODAPv2.2021 product (Lauvset et al., 2021) using the eMLR(C*) method developed by Clement & Gruber (2018). The datasets contain in addition to the standard estimate also 10 sensitivity cases, which are intended to assess the robustness of the standard estimates to different changes in the estimation procedure.
