NCCOS Assessment: MPA Boundary Efficacy and Biotic Movements in Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve: Tagging and Tracking Fish with Acoustic Telemetry in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, 2017-04-18 to 2019-06-24 (NCEI Accession 0280248)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset includes raw acoustic telemetry detection data for fish tagged with Vemco/Innovasea acoustic transmitters in Salt River Bay, St. Croix from 2017 through 2019, along with pertinent metadata. Detection data were obtained from an array of underwater acoustic receivers deployed across the study area, which detected and logged transmissions from tagged fish. Each receiver had a detection radius of 50-200 m for tags. Detection data include identifying information for each fish tag, timestamp of detection, and positional information for the receiver that detected the tag.

Coral Colony Area in Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary from 2015-01-01 to 2023-04-30 (NCEI Accession 0280384)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Vital rate data on individual colonies of Orbicella franksi were collected in both East and West Flower Garden Banks from 2011 through 2015. Empirical data were obtained from Maher et al. (2018) in which a total of 121 randomly selected O. franksi coral colonies were photographed for five years (2011–2015), and planar projections were drawn digitally and recorded as a representation of colony area (cm2). These empirical data were used to estimate annual growth rates of various sized coral colonies.

A compiled data product of underway pCO2 measurements from 63 individual cruise data sets collected on board Ships of Opportunity (SOOP) transiting the Pacific Ocean, from March 2004 through October 2018 (NCEI Accession 0280595)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

As part of a multi-year effort to quantify the flux of CO2 between the ocean and atmosphere, the Ocean Climate Observation Program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) supports the deployment of underway CO2 systems on NOAA research ships and volunteer observing ships (VOS) in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The CO2 group of NOAA's Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) has been monitoring sea surface CO2 concentrations in the equatorial Pacific since 1982.
