Temperature and salinity profile data collected by R/V NATHANIEL B. PALMER in the Southern Oceans from 1999-12-26 to 2000-02-08 (NCEI Accession 0000659)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains data from 84 high resolution CTD stations, collected 26 Dec 1999 to 8 Feb 2000 by R/V Nathaniel B Palmer. These data support the Antarctic Pack Ice Seals (APIS) project, funded by the US National Science Foundation grant #OPP9816086. Data were acquired using a SeaBird 911plus CTD and processed by the data originator with SeaBird data processing software. File format information, contact information for the Principal Investigators, and other important metadata are available in the file data/1-data/Readme.

Physical, current, and other data from CTD and current meters from FIXED PLATFORMS in the Bering Sea in support of the Fisheries-Oceanography Coordinated Investigations (FOCI) project from 25 February 1998 to 10 October 2001 (NCEI Accession 0000665)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Physical, current, and other data from CTD and current meters from FIXED PLATFORMS in the Bering Sea from 25 February 1998 to 10 October 2001. Data were collected by the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) in support of the Fisheries-Oceanography Coordinated Investigations (FOCI) project. Irish Marine Institute biotoxin, phytoplankton and remote sensing data for Harmful Algal Event monitoring Identification Information (NCEI Accession 0000668)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The presence of harmful algal species, which produce toxins, pose a significant threat to public health and coastal aquaculture activities. For example, estimated losses due to biotoxin closures have cost the Irish shellfish industry $4 million in 2000. Biotoxins, which have the potential to cause the following human illnesses: diarrhetic, paralytic, amnesic and azaspiracid shellfish poisoning (known as DSP, PSP, ASP and AZP respectively) have been detected in shellfish in Ireland. The toxic phytoplankton species of concern in Irish waters are: Dinophysis spp. (DSP), Alexandrium spp.

Phytoplankton cell count, temperature and salinity data from Texas coastal waters, 1996-2002 (NCEI Accession 0000669)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This data set was created to accommodate a wide range of data on the phytoplankton Karenia brevis. It is designed to efficiently capture core information, yet have the capacity to expand and capture related sampling information if it is available. The data may be useful for studying red tide bloom events along the Texas coastline.
