NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Near Constant Contrast (NCC) Imagery Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains a high quality operational Environmental Data Record (EDR) from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite and is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). This EDR contains Near Constant Contrast (NCC) Imagery using the Day/Night Band (DNB). NCC is a pseudo-albedo, with a much smaller range of values than the DNB radiances from which it is derived; a product that is especially useful in high-contrast conditions, such as across the day-night terminator.

NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Sea Ice Characterization (SIC) Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains an Environmental Data Record (EDR) of Sea Ice Characterization (SIC) from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite and is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). The VIIRS SIC EDR provides ice classifications for ice free, new/young age, and other ice at a spatial resolution of 750 meters at nadir for both day and night over oceans poleward of 36 degrees north and 50 degrees south.

NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Snow Cover/Depth (SCD) Binary Map Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains a high quality operational Environmental Data Record (EDR) of Binary Snow Cover (BSC) from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite and is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). The VIIRS BSC EDR is based on the heritage Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Snow Map product that classifies snow using the Normalized Difference Snow Index (NDSI) at a spatial resolution of 375 meters at nadir during daytime over cloud-free land masses.

NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Snow Cover/Depth (SCD) Snow Fraction Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains a high quality operational Environmental Data Record (EDR) of Snow Cover/Depth Fraction (SCF) from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite and is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). The VIIRS SCF EDR is based on a 2x2 aggregation of the VIIRS imagery resolution binary snow map at a spatial resolution of 750 meters at nadir during daytime over cloud-free land masses.

NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Surface Type (ST) Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains a high quality operational Environmental Data Record (EDR) of Surface Types (ST) from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite and is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). The VIIRS ST EDR provides 17 International Geosphere-Biosphere Program (IGBP) land cover classifications with global coverage at 1 kilometer spatial resolution and is updated daily. The algorithm requires inputs from several VIIRS EDRs including, Vegetation Index, Snow Cover, and Active Fires.

NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Suspended Matter (SM) Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This global Level-2 (L2) Environmental Data Record (EDR) contains daytime suspended matter (SM) detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite at a spatial resolution of 750 meters at nadir. SM types include smoke, dust, volcanic ash and sea salt. SM is detected using VIIRS spectral bands M1 (412 nm) to M5 (672 nm) over land and M7 (865 nm) to M11 (2.25 micron) over ocean. The algorithm also requires inputs from the VIIRS Cloud Mask (VCM) and Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT) Intermediate Product (IP).

NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Vegetation Index (VI) Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This global Level-2 (L2) Environmental Data Record (EDR) contains daytime VIIRS Vegetation Index (VI) detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite at a spatial resolution of 375 meters at nadir. The VI EDR consists of two VIs, the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived from top-of-the-atmosphere (TOA) reflectances (AVHRR heritage) and the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) derived from atmospherically-corrected, top-of-canopy (TOC) reflectances (MODIS heritage).
