NOAA/National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS)/Office of Satellite and Product Operations (OSPO) Satellite Analysis Branch (SAB) Global Tropical Cyclone Position and Dvorak Intensity Estimates

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The NOAA/National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS)/Office of Satellite and Product Operations (OSPO) Satellite Analysis Branch (SAB) provides position and intensity estimates derived from the Dvorak Technique (DT) for tropical disturbances across the globe every 6 hours. This dataset provides SAB's Tropical Cyclone Analysis Worksheet for each system that was classified.

This collection is roughly organized by year with the exception of the earlier start of the tropical storm season in the Southern Hemisphere. Specifically:

Water temperature, salinity, and surface meteorology measurements collected from the Tropical Moored Buoy Arrays in the equatorial oceans from 1977-11-03 to 2025-06-30

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains daily sub-surface profiles of water temperature, salinity, and surface meteorological observational data from The Global Tropical Moored Buoy Array Program, a multi-national effort to provide data in real-time for climate research and forecasting. Major components include the TAO/TRITON (Tropical Atmosphere Ocean) array in the Pacific, PIRATA (Prediction and Research Moored Array in the Atlantic) in the Atlantic, and RAMA (Research Moored Array for African-Asian-Australian Monsoon Analysis and Prediction) in the Indian Ocean.

NODC Standard Product: Climatic Atlas of the Barents Sea 1998: Temperature, Salinity, Oxygen (NCEI Accession 0000379)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This NODC CD-ROM product (NODC-121) contains the time and space distribution of 74,256 ocean stations (temperature, salinity, and oxygen) occupied in the Barents Sea from 1898 to 1993. These data are recorded on CD-ROM in a format designed for use in electronic spreadsheets and/or databases. Monthly maps defining the station distribution over the Barents Sea are given for every year. Monthly mean fields of temperature and salinity distribution for the depths 0, 30, 50, 100, and 200 m, with a grid distance of 10'x30' are plotted using objective analysis techniques.

NODC Standard Product: International Ocean Atlas Volume 2 - Biological Atlas of the Arctic Seas 2000 - Plankton of the Barents and Kara Seas (NCEI Accession 0000382)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This CD-ROM, NODC-146, contains physical and biological data for the region extending from the Barents Sea to the Kara Sea during 158 scientific cruises for the period 1913-1999. Maps with the temporal distribution of physical and biological variables of the Barents and Kara Seas are presented, with proposed quality control criteria for phytoplankton and zooplankton data. Multiple tables of Arctic Seas species are presented, containing ecological and geographic characteristics for each species, and images of live cells for the dominant phytoplankton species.
