Panama City Reef Fish Video Survey CTD data

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

These data are surface to bottom (depth specific) measurements of conductivity (salinity), temperature, dissolved oxygen, and water clarity (transmissivity) collected as part of NOAA Fisheries SEFSC Panama City laboratorys fishery-independent survey of natural reefs on the northern half of the West Florida Shelf in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.

EOP MIT General Circulation Model (MITgcm)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This data contains a regional implementation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology general circulation model (MITgcm) at a 1-km spatial resolution for the -158 - -154º W, 18.2-20.8º N region. Variables available are temperature, salinity, zonal, meridional and vertical velocity of currents, for 35 depth levels between the surface and 1000m.

Telemetery CIS 2014 (acoustic monitoring data of bonnethead and Atlantic sharpnose in Crooked Island Sound summer 2014)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Coastal habitat use and residency of small juvenile Atlantic sharpnose (Rhizoprionodon terraenove) and bonnethead (Sphyrna tiburo) sharks in relation to larger juvenile blacktip (Carcharhinus limbatus) and scalloped hammerhead (Sphyrna lewini) sharks were examined by acoustic monitoring in Crooked Island Sound, FL. This is a raw dataset no analysis or publications have come from this data as of data.

Deep Water Survey Data

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The deep water biodiversity surveys explore and describe the biodiversity of the bathy- and bentho-pelagic nekton using Midwater and bottom trawls. The covered area includes the western North Atlantic between the vicinity of Bear Seamount and Physalia Seamount, and areas surrounding the northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR-ECO), focusing on the Charlie Gibbs Fracture Zone.

Shrimp Survey Data

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Northern Shrimp Survey was initiated in 1983 by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) and monitors the relative abundance (number of shrimp), biomass (weight of shrimp), and composition of the northern shrimp stock throughout the Gulf of Maine. The data give an understanding of year class strength and sex stage and maturity of shrimp in the population. The survey focuses its efforts in offshore waters (in depths greater than 50 meters) and is timed to sample both males and females during the summer when they are expected to be offshore.

Marine Debris Survey and Removal Efforts in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands from 1999 to 2021

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The marine debris data included in this dataset are from annual in-water surveys conducted from 1999 to 2021 at the reefs, atolls and islands in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands (NWHI) by the NOAA Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC), Ecosystem Sciences Division (ESD) with funding from Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument (PMNM), and NOAA's Marine Debris (MDP) and Damage Assessment Remediation and Restoration (DARRP) Programs.

Ocean acidification impacts on black sea bass and scup embryos, responses of finfish in laboratory experiments

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Black sea bass (Centropristis striata) and scup (Stenotomus chrysops) compose important recreational and commercial fisheries along the United States Atlantic coast. Black sea bass is a temperate species, associated with reef habitat. Wild stocks and landings have been decreasong in recent decades. The demand for black sea bass exceeds supply, and the high market value has prompted research to evaluate their potential for commercial aquaculture.

Cooperative Shark Mark Recapture Database (MRDBS)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Shark Mark Recapture Database is a Cooperative Research Program database system used to keep multispecies mark-recapture information in a common format for management and analysis. It tracks fish and tags independently, is web based for remote access for data input and QA/QC, and has the capability to perform audits and updates.

AFSC/NMML with NPRB: Whale broad-scale distribution in southeastern Bering Sea, 2008 and 2010

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

As part of the Bering Sea Integrated Ecosystem Research Program (BSIERP) funded by the North Pacific Research Board (http://www.nprb.org/bering-sea-project), cetacean surveys were conducted to describe distribution and estimate abundance on the eastern Bering Sea shelf. Three marine mammal observers conducted visual surveys along transect lines sampled during the Alaska Fisheries Science Center walleye pollock assessment survey in June and July of 2008 and 2010.

Oceanography Branch Hydrographic Database

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Oceanography group maintains and provides Conductivity/Temperature/Depth (CTD) instruments to all Center cruises for measuring water column profiles of temperature and salinity. Generally, over 1000 profiles are collected each year on the northeast continental shelf from Cape Hatteras to the Gulf of Maine. Profiles are collected at every station on the Center's bottom trawl surveys and at every station on the Center's Ecosystem Monitoring surveys.
