This global Level-2 (L2) Environmental Data Record (EDR) contains daytime land surface albedo (LSA) detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite at a spatial resolution of 750 meters at nadir. LSA provides a unique property for studying how land surface changes affect the energy balance and the overall climate system. The VIIRS LSA algorithm is a direct estimation method, which directly links surface broadband albedo with VIIRS top-of-atmosphere (TOA) reflectance through radiative transfer and statistical modeling.

This Level-3 (L3) Environmental Data Record (EDR) provides global (4 km) and regional (1 km) vegetation indices (VI) detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 satellites. This product includes daily, weekly, and bi-weekly vegetation grids generated from VIIRS Sensor Data Records (SDR).

This metadata record encompasses ancillary data, auxiliary data, messages and reports for the Suomi-NPP satellite. Ancillary data is defined as any data which is not produced by JPSS, but is acquired from external providers and used by JPSS in the production of JPSS data products. Auxiliary Data is data other than that included in the sensor application packets, which is produced internally by JPSS, and is used to produce the JPSS data products.

This global Level-1B (L1B) Sensor Data Record (SDR) contains Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) brightness temperature (Tb) observations remapped to Cross-track Infrared Sounder Field of Regard (FOR) locations. ATMS Tb footprints are remapped to CrIS FOR locations using the ATMS Resampling Algorithm. The resampled output data is used by the Cross-track Infrared and Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder Suite (CrIMSS) EDR algorithm to produce atmospheric temperature, moisture and pressure profiles.

This metadata record encompasses all Non-Gridded Intermediate Products (IP) produced from observations acquired by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite. These IPs are generated from VIIRS Sensor Data Records (SDR) and are used as inputs for generating VIIRS Environmental Data Records (EDR). These products are produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) and are distributed by the Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS).

This Level-3 (L3) Global Environmental Data Record (EDR) provides annual surface type maps and climatology surface type maps generated from observations detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 satellites. The AST product is produced using a 17-Type surface classification scheme developed by the International Geosphere Biosphere Program (IGBP) from VIIRS Level-2 (L2) M-bands EDRs. This product is updated annually and is provided in both geographic and sinusoidal projections.

This global Level-3 (L3) Environmental Data Record (EDR) contains land surface albedo (LSA) detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 satellites. This daily product is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) and is distributed by the Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS) as global grids in the NetCDF-4 file format with metadata attributes included.

This Level-3 (L3) Global Environmental Data Record (EDR) provides a near real-time flood product generated from observations detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 satellites. For each observation, this product provides the flood status at the time of satellite overpass at a resolution of 375 meters.

This Level-4 (L4) Global Environmental Data Record (EDR) provides blended 1-Day and 5-Day composite flood products produced from observations acquired by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 satellites. These composite products are rendered using Area of Interest (AOI) maps. The globe is divided into 134 AOI maps, with each map providing the maximum 1-Day or 5-Day flood extent for that AOI.

The Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) on board Suomi NPP is a 22 channel microwave sounder that provides continuous cross-track scanning in an 824 km sun-synchronous orbit. The reprocessed (versions RP1 & RP2) Temperature Data Records (TDR) from ATMS provide Level 1b geolocated antenna temperatures, calibration data counts, and ephemeris data produced from ATMS Raw Data Records (RDR).
