Python tools for OpenFOAM simulations of fused filaments in embedded 3D printing, Version 1.2.0

Data provided by  National Institute of Standards and Technology

In embedded 3D printing, a nozzle is embedded into a support bath and extrudes filaments or droplets into the bath. Using OpenFOAM, we simulated the extrusion of filaments and droplets into a moving bath, for single filaments, single filaments being disturbed by a nozzle, and printing pairs of filaments. OpenFOAM is an open source computational fluid dynamics solver.

OpenFOAM simulations of filament fusion in embedded 3D printing

Data provided by  National Institute of Standards and Technology

In embedded 3D printing, a nozzle is embedded into a support bath and extrudes filaments or droplets into the bath. However, moving the nozzle near an existing structure and writing new filaments can cause deformation and lack-of-fusion defects. Using OpenFOAM, we simulated what happens when a nozzle moves near an existing filament, and when a nozzle writes a second filament next to an existing filament. OpenFOAM is an open source computational fluid dynamics solver. This work used OpenFOAM 8 on a computing cluster. OpenFOAM input files were generated using Python 3.7.

Dataset for: A technique for in-situ displacement and strain measurement with laboratory-scale X-ray Computed Tomography

Data provided by  National Institute of Standards and Technology

This record provides raw and post-processed data used in the associated paper "A technique for in-situ displacement and strain measurement with laboratory-scale X-ray Computed Tomography." The codes used are provided in a separate software publication "SerialTrackXR", also referenced. The data consist of 3D X-ray computed tomography (X-ray CT) scans, projection images, and load/displacement data of two additively manufactured tensile test coupons made from IN718 with different processing conditions.

Characterization of a Frequency Converter Based on a Superconducting Coplanar Waveguide, IMS 2024

Data provided by  National Institute of Standards and Technology

We plan to present a technique for implementing a frequency doubler in NbTiN on silicon for operation in a cryogenic environment at IMS 2024. The kinetic inductance of a superconducting coplanar waveguide is exploited for efficient frequency conversion, while the fabrication allows for co-location with other cryogenic circuits. A conversion efficiency greater than 10% is demonstrated at a frequency of 9.87 GHz, offering lower input power requirements and competitive conversion efficiencies relative to other state-of-the-art solutions.

Cutting Force Monitoring Experiment 02

Data provided by  National Institute of Standards and Technology

An experiment was set up at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to test methods for estimating the cutting forces in real time within machine tools for any spindle speed, force profile, tool type, and cutting conditions. Before cutting, a metrology suite and instrumented tool holder were used to induce magnetic forces during spindle rotation, while on-machine vibrations, magnetic forces, and error motions were measured for various combinations of speeds and forces.

Code for SerialTrack-XR particle tracking

Data provided by  National Institute of Standards and Technology

This repository contains scripts for running a custom implementation of "SerialTrack" designed for 2D X-ray projection images taken during in situ micro-X-ray computed tomography (XCT) experiments. The particle tracking-based technique allows for surface displacement and strain fields to be measured during, for example, mini-tensile test motions.

Data associated with "Characterizing the broadband RF permittivity of 3D-integrated layers in a glass wafer stack from 100 MHz to 30 GHz" for the 2024 International Microwave Symposium (IMS) in Washington, D.C.

Data provided by  National Institute of Standards and Technology

We present a method for accurately determining the permittivity of dielectric materials in 3D integrated structures at broadband RF frequencies. With applications of microwave and millimeter-wave electronics on the rise, reliable methods for measuring the electrical properties of dielectrics used in integrated circuits are critical. We outline an on-wafer method for extracting the permittivity of a 3D multilayer glass structure from 100 MHz to 30 GHz using S-parameter measurements of different calibration chips.

Smart network repository based on Neo4j native graph database

Data provided by  National Institute of Standards and Technology

To address the increasing complexity of network management and the limitations of data repositories in handling the various network operational data, this paper proposes a novel repository design that uniformly represents network operational data while allowing for a multiple abstractions access to the information. This smart repository simplifies network management functions by enabling network verification directly within the repository.
