BEA has developed a preliminary set of statistics measuring the contributions of space-related industries to the overall U.S. economy.These estimates give business leaders, policymakers, and the public a new tool to analyze the space economy and to inform investment decisions.Preliminary estimates of the U.S. space economy's GDP, gross output, private employment, and private compensation by industry were published in the December 2020 Survey of Current Business.

COVID-19 and Recovery: Estimates From Payment Card Transactions

BEA has been researching the use of card transaction data as an early barometer of spending in the United States. Since the emergence of COVID-19, dramatic and fast-moving changes to the U.S. economy have increased the public and policymakers' need for more frequent and timely economic data. In response, BEA is presenting these estimates using daily payment card data to measure the effects of the pandemic on spending, updated approximately every two weeks.

All datasets are available in Stata, CSV, and raw/fixed formats, and are accompanied by official documentation produced by the Census Bureau (with the exception of the Analyze Table, with was created by NTIA and accompanied by documentation written by NTIA).
