Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN), Version 1 (Version Superseded)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
**Please note, this dataset has been superseded by a newer version (see below). Users should not use this version except in rare cases (e.g., when reproducing previous studies that used this version).** The Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN) Version 1 is a comprehensive, global, surface, baseline, climate data set designed for monitoring and detecting climate change. Comprised of surface station observations of temperature, precipitation, and pressure, all GHCN data are monthly.

NCEP Weather Analyses and Forecasts Charts
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Weather Analyses and Forecasts Charts from the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) are produced on a daily basis at meteorological synoptic times, normally at 00 and 12 UTC. Chart contents contain constant pressure charts, including the analyses and forecasts of heights, temperatures, winds, relative humidity, vertical velocity, vorticity, lifted index, thickness levels, and wind shear. Also available are surface analyses and charts of the Atlantic and Pacific with special emphasis on specific areas such as the Gulf of Alaska.

Integrated Surface Dataset (Global) (Version Superseded)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
*This version has been superseded by a newer version. It is highly recommended for users to access the current version. Users should only access this superseded version for special cases, such as reproducing studies. If necessary, this version can be accessed by contacting NCEI.*The Integrated Surface Dataset (ISD) is composed of worldwide surface weather observations from over 35,000 stations, though the best spatial coverage is evident in North America, Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia.

Continental United States Hurricane Strikes 1950-2012
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Continental U.S. Hurricane Strikes Poster is our most popular poster which is updated annually. The poster includes all hurricanes that affected the U.S. since 1950 with hurricane force winds, although some did not necessarily make landfall. This 32"x34" glossy poster will give you a quick look of the location and strength of each hurricane which struck the continental Unites States. The map includes the name, category strength, year, and approximate strike location of each hurricane.

United States Climate Reference Network (USCRN) Quality Controlled Datasets
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
USCRN Products are available on public FTP and derived from the USCRN processed data. Available parameters include averages and calculated values for precipitation, air temperature, solar radiation, surface temperature, relative humidity, soil moisture, and soil temperature on varying time scales. Products are available as sub-hourly, daily, hourly, and monthly products. It is the general practice of USCRN to not calculate derived variables if the input data to these calculations are flagged due to quality concerns.

International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP), Raw Radiance Data (B1)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
In 1983, the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) began collecting satellite data from the international geostationary meteorological satellites as well as NOAA POES satellites around the world in an effort to characterize global cloudiness. Due to computing limitations at the time, data were subsampled to ~10 km were archived for future processing. This subsampled data is called B1 data. ISCCP B1 data are a collection of measurements from imagers on international geostationaru satellites which are sub-sampled to approximately 10 km and 3 hourly.

Gateway National Weather Service (NWS) Service Records and Retention System (SRRS)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Service Records Retention System (SRRS) was developed to store weather observations, summaries, forecasts, warnings, and advisories provided by the U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) for public use, and are retained by the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) [formerly the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC)].

2005 Significant U.S. Hurricane Strikes Poster
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The 2005 Significant U.S. Hurricane Strikes poster is one of two special edition posters for the Atlantic Hurricanes. This beautiful poster contains two sets of images of five hurricanes that impacted the United States in 2005, namely Katrina, Ophelia, Rita and Wilma. The images were created from NOAA's geostationary and polar-orbiting environmental satellites.
