National Coral Reef Monitoring Program: Benthic Cover Derived from Analysis of Benthic Images Collected during Stratified Random Surveys (StRS) across American Samoa from 2023-03-30 to 2023-08-09 (NCEI Accession 0290482)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The data described here resulted from benthic photo-quadrat surveys conducted along transects at stratified random sites across American Samoa in 2023 as a part of Rapid Ecological Assessment (REA) surveys for corals and fish. Benthic habitat imagery was quantitatively analyzed using the web-based annotation tool CoralNet (Beijbom et al. 2016).

Zooplankton biomass and density collected from the R/V LAURENTIAN and other small boats in Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake in the Great Lakes region from 2021-05-10 to 2021-09-16 (NCEI Accession 0290558)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) samples and studies the ecosystem of the lower food web of the Laurentian Great Lakes. This collection contains zooplankton biomass and density data at three stations during the open water season in Lake Michigan and one station in Muskegon Lake in 2021. Note, no samples were collected in Lake Michigan in 2020 due to COVID-19. Zooplankton density is given in the number of organisms per cubic meter and biomass is given in milligrams per cubic meter. File formats included in this data package are .csv and jpg.

Cetacean visual observations using line-transect survey methods onboard the NOAA Ship Gordon Gunter (GU) during the Atlantic Marine Assessment Program for Protected Species (AMAPPS) in the Western North Atlantic Ocean (survey GU2301) from 2023-02-04 to 2023-04-27 (NCEI Accession 0290563)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
As part of the Atlantic Marine Assessment Program for Protected Species (AMAPPS), the Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) conducted a shipboard survey of the U.S. waters of the Western North Atlantic (WNA) from approximately the 200m isobath out to the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The survey was conducted between February 4 and April 27, 2023 onboard the NOAA Ship Gordon Gunter, for a total of 44 days at sea split into three survey legs. Multiple days were lost due to mechanical problems with the ship (Jan 23 to Feb 2) and unfavorable weather conditions (April 8 to 10).
