The Steel Import Monitoring and Analysis (SIMA) System, under the Department of Commerce, collects and publishes data of steel mill product imports. By design this information provides stakeholders and public valuable information on steel trade with the United States.

The ‘Import Monitor’ aggregates detailed license information and makes it available for public analysis on a weekly basis. All imported steel products under the U.S. Bureau of the Census (Census) definition of steel mill products are required to have an import license effective June 9, 20051. The data from the licensing system are used in conjunction with similar Census data to put together the ‘Import Monitor’. This Monitor helps alert users to changes in import patterns.

The Micronutrients Measurement Quality Assurance Program (MMQAP) was coordinated by the Chemical Sciences Division and supported measurement technology for selected fat- and water-soluble vitamins and carotenoids in human serum. This program was initiated in 1984 by the National Cancer Institute Division of Cancer Prevention and Control to ensure the long-term reliability of the measurements made while studying the possible cancer chemoprevention roles of these compounds.

Donor serum for SRM 2378 was collected from three groups of individuals: (level 1) three healthy donors who took 1000 mg/day of fish oil supplements for a minimum of one month prior to collection; (level 2) three healthy donors who took 1000 mg/day of flaxseed oil supplements for a minimum of one month prior to collection; and (level 3) three healthy donors who did not take either fish or flaxseed oil supplements for one month prior to collection.

This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is in the form of chips sized between 0.50 and 1.18 mm sieve openings (35 and 16 mesh). It is intended for use primarily in chemical methods of analysis. SRM 972a Vitamin D Metabolites in Frozen Human Serum - This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended for use as an accuracy control in the critical evaluation of methods for determining the amount-of-substance concentration of vitamin D metabolites in human serum. SRM 1297 Stainless Steel (SAE 201) - 'This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended for use in optical emission and x-ray spectrometric methods of analysis. SRM 2973 Vitamin D Metabolites in Frozen Human Serum (High Level) - This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended for use as an accuracy control in the critical evaluation of methods for determining the amount-of-substance concentration of vitamin D metabolites in human serum. This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended for use as a primary calibration standard for the quantitative determination of tungsten.
