A time-series of in situ seawater carbonate chemistry, dissolved major and minor metals as well as seawater environmental parameters was compiled from 2009 to 2017 in the shallow hydrothermal vents area around the Kuei-Shan-Tao volcano off Taiwan. The time-series coincided with a 2016 M5.8 Earthquake and a C5 Typhoon that change all the local seawater chemistry, providing an excellent opportunity to study seawater biogeochemical changes after catastrophic events. The sampling took place in the White and Yellow vents around the island as well as in grid format in the near offshore waters. Samples were recovered mostly by NISKIN bottles, but also via scuba diving, especially on the Yellow Vent. Samples were analyzed in situ using a YSI probe for environmental parameters and in the laboratory for all other parameters needing analytical methods, including Elemental Analyzer, ICP-OES and -MS or VINDTA and titrators. Dataset itself (rather on science), including list of measurement parameters, geographic area, temporal coverage, measurement platform.
