This dataset contains chemical and physical data collected on Alvin and R/V Atlantis during cruise AT42-05 and deployment AT42-05_Alvin_Dives in the Gulf of California from 2018-11-17 to 2018-11-26. These data include Ammonium, Dissolved Organic Nitrogen, Nitrate, Nitrite, Total Dissolved Nitrogen, Total Dissolved Phosphorus, dissolved organic Carbon, methane, nitrate plus nitrite, pH, particulate inorganic Carbon, particulate organic Carbon (POC), reactive phosphorus (PO4), salinity calculated from CTD primary sensors, sulfate, and total alkalinity (TA). The instruments used to collect these data include Gas Chromatograph, Ion Chromatograph, Spectrophotometer, Total Organic Carbon Analyzer, and pH Sensor. These data were collected by Richard N. Peterson of Coastal Carolina University, Samantha B. Joye of University of Georgia, and Andreas P. Teske of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as part of the "Collaborative Research: Microbial Carbon cycling and its interactions with Sulfur and Nitrogen transformations in Guaymas Basin hydrothermal sediments (Guaymas Basin Interactions)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2021-01-25.
