Storm Tracks in the Gulf of Mexico from 1851 to 2012.

This dataset contains track lines from 1851 - 2012 based on data from the International Best Track Archive for Climate Stewardship (IBTrACS) and the National Hurricane Center. Only tracks that entered the Gulf of Mexico are included. For example, storms that moved westward across Florida, but did not emerge into the Gulf, were excluded. Only storms that were at tropical storm strength or greater intensity while in the Gulf of Mexico are included. For example, previously strong storms that were downgraded to tropical depressions before crossing into the Gulf were excluded.
