Water temperature taken by XBTs from motor vessel Peter M. Mahoney on the New England shelf from 2023-08-24 to 2023-08-26 (NCEI Accession 0292551)

The data consist of 15 (Sippican T-11) XBT measurements collected on the New England Shelf during late August, 2023. Time of data collection, position, and type of XBT as well as XBT serial number are included in the headers. A primary goal of the study was to assess how different XBTs respond differently to seabed impact into different types of strata (e.g. mud versus sand/gravel). A detailed discussion of the XBT data is provided in the related publication (see the Documentation). No drop rate correction was applied. Data are in text format.
