Physical and meteorological data were collected in the Tropical Pacific Ocean from 29 January 1979 to 03 November 2001. Data were collected by the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) from the seventy moorings of the Tropical Atmosphere/Ocean (TAO) Project. Moorings contain ADCPs, current meters, meteorological sensors, and other instruments.

This dataset includes dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity, water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen concentration, delta carbon-13, delta helium-3, helium, silicate, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, radium isotopes, tritium and other variables collected from discrete sample and profile observations during R/V Knorr TTO-NAS cruises in the North Atlantic Ocean from 1981-04-01 to 1981-10-19. Physical profile data were collected from XTD and XCTD casts in the Southeast Indian Ocean and Weddell Gyre from R/V XUE LONG. Data were collected by Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory as part of the US/Chinese Ship of Opportunity Sampling Program from 28 December 2001 to 11 March 2002. XBT data include temperature profiles. XCTD data include profiles of temperature, salinity, conductivity, sound velocity, and density.

Transects of the coral colonies at 21 sites in American Samoa were surveyed by Dr. Charles Birkeland during an underwater swim in March 2002. Data for each coral species include abundances and size distributions of the colonies. The living coral cover can be estimated from the size distribution data. Data were collected by the US DOI; Geological Survey - Honolulu in support of the Coral Reef Studies.
