Topographic/bathymetric survey using conventional and GPS surveying equipment as part of the West Fork of the Hoquiam River Dam Removal and Groundwater Replacement Preliminary Design and Permitting project from 2023-04-18 to 2023-04-20. (NCEI Accession 0302759)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
A topographic and bathymetric survey of the West Fork River near the West Fork Hoquiam River Dam was completed by Parametrix using conventional and GPS surveying equipment. The purpose of this survey was to develop pre-design engineering documents for dam removal. The survey was conducted using field traverse as per Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 332-130-090, Part C. Relative accuracy exceeds one foot in ten thousand. The resulting data and map of this work represents conditions and features existing at the time of this survey in April 2023.

Benthic, urchin, and fish observation data collected using multiple methodologies to calculate coral reef carbonate budget estimates for sites in American Samoa in 2023 (NCEI Accession 0302849)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This data package includes the benthic, urchin, and fish observation data collected for coral reef carbonate budget assessments by the Ecosystem Sciences Division (ESD) of NOAA's Pacific Island Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) at fixed sites across American Samoa in 2023. These data were collected as part of a three-year methods development and pilot project funded by the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program (CRCP) in order to establish a standardized carbonate budget methodology for the National Coral Reef Monitoring Program (NCRMP) in the U.S. Pacific Islands.

SPLASH Field Study; NOAA GML Brush Creek & Kettle Ponds Snow Depth Estimates (NCEI Accession 0302850)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
From fall 2021 through summer 2023, NOAA and research partners conducted a field study (SPLASH - the Study of Precipitation, the Lower Atmosphere and Surface for Hydrometeorology). This field study established a state-of-the-art observing network in the East River watershed of the Colorado mountains with a goal of advancing weather and water prediction capabilities in areas with complex terrain. The ultimate goal of this project is improved prediction of weather and water in the Colorado mountains and beyond to inform societal preparedness and response.

NOAA RESTORE Science Program: Linking Community and Food-web Approaches to Restoration: Carbon and nitrogen stable isotope values of organisms from created and natural marsh of Lake Hermitage, West Point a la Hache, and Bay Batiste, Louisiana, May 2018 (NCEI Accession 0302883)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains bulk tissue carbon (delta-13C) and nitrogen (delta-15N) stable isotope values from sediment samples, marsh primary producers, marsh invertebrates, and marsh vertebrates collected at two created and four natural marsh sites in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana near Lake Hermitage, West Point a la Hache, and Bay Batiste in May 2018. The data set also contains site location, species composition (determined to the lowest taxonomic level), body size, and elemental concentration information. Data are in spreadsheet format.

NCCOS Assessment: Chemical contaminants data from the Faga’alu Bay and Watershed, American Samoa before and after best management practices from 2014-01-18 to 2022-04-06 (NCEI Accession 0302885)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset represents a “before and after” sediment sampling effort from Faga’alu Bay and watershed, American Samoa, to evaluate the effectiveness of best management practices at a quarry site. A suite of organic and inorganic parameters was quantified at twelve randomly selected and one targeted marine sites and four targeted stream site in 2014, including: polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), trace elements, carbon, Clostridium perfringens abundance, and sediment grain size.

Water temperature, salinity, and others taken by CTD/XCTD and other instruments from the R/V Mirai in the North Pacific and Arctic Oceans from 2016-08-22 to 2016-10-05 (NCEI Accession 0302907)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains measurements conducted as part of meteorological and hydrographic surveys including marine biogeochemical samplings in the northern Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean on board the R/V Mirai, cruise MR16-06, from 22 August to 5 October 2016 under the Arctic Challenge for Sustainability (ArCS) Project. This dataset is U.S. State Department MSR U2016-011 as part of the World Data Service for Oceanography and Geophysics. Cruise data are available from the JAMSTEC DARWIN portal (see the Documentation).

Dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, nutrients, and other variables collected from profile and discrete observations during NOAA Ship Henry B. Bigelow cruise HB2303 (EXPOCODE 33HH20230808) in New York Bight, North Atlantic Ocean, Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary from 2023-08-08 to 2023-08-24 (NCEI Accession 0302973)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains profile discrete measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, pH on total scale, water temperature, salinity, nutrients, and oxygen collected during the NOAA Ship Henry B. Bigelow cruise HB2303 (EXPOCODE 33HH20230808) in New York Bight, North Atlantic Ocean, Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary from 2023-08-08 to 2023-08-24. Increasing amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide from human industrial activities are causing changes in global ocean carbon chemistry ultimately resulting in a reduction in pH, a process termed ocean acidification.
