Initial Joint Polar-orbiting Operational Satellite (IJPS) Telemetry and Ancillary Files
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Initial Joint Polar-orbiting System (IJPS) is a collaboration between The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT). This collection contains two types of companion files: 1) NOAA AIP 1a telemetry file, which contains the AIP minor frame data as generated on-board the satellite for the orbit, and 2) IJPS Ancillary file, a tar file that contains all of the ancillary input files required by the preprocessor in order to identically reproduce its output (e.g., the 1b* data sets).

Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) Level 2 Cloud-Cleared Radiances (CCR)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer Granule Data - The Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer is flown on METOP series satellites. The main goal is to provide atmospheric emission spectra to derive temperature and humidity profiles with high vertical resolution and accuracy. It is a Michelson interferometer with spectral coverage between 3.6 and 15.5 micrometers. At nadir, the instrument samples data at intervals of 25 km along and a cross track, each sample having a maximum diameter of about 12 km.

AVHRR/HIRS Longwave Radiation Budget Data (RBUD)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Radiation Budget Data - The Radiation Budget product suite is
produced from the primary morning and afternoon Polar Orbiters. Product shows a
measure of the longwave radiation emitted (W/m^2) by the earth-atmosphere system to
space. The observations are displayed on a one degree equal area map for the day and
night. The products are: GAC long wave, HIRS long wave, longwave histogram, annual
mean, monthly mean, and seasonal mean. This is a NESDIS legacy product and the file

NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT) and Aerosol Particle Size Parameter (APSP) Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains a high quality operational Environmental Data Record (EDR) of Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT) from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite and is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). The algorithm that is used to derive the VIIRS AOT is based on an algorithm originally developed for the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor but is adapted and improved upon for use by VIIRS.

NOAA JPSS Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Cloud Base Height (CBH) Environmental Data Record (EDR) from IDPS
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains a high quality operational Environmental Data Record (EDR) of Cloud Base Heights (CBH) from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite and is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). CBH is defined as the height above sea level at which cloud bases occur and is derived by subtracting Cloud Optical Thickness (COT) values from Cloud Top Height (CTH) values. The algorithm also incorporates data from the Cloud Mask Intermediate Product (IP).
